Media geek is a radio show/podcast, blog and zine "about grassroots and independent media, and the issues that affect our ability to create and use that media freely." Began in 2000 as a blog, the weekly mediageek radioshow first aired in 2002 and regularly includes zine readings and news. Archived radioshows date back to 2004 and may be browsed by date or searched by keyword.

Listen to the interview (April 16, 2004) with Adam Davis, zine librarian at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center Library & Archives. Davis discusses his library's zines and the difficulties libraries have with maintaining and creating zine collections.

The first issue (March 10, 2006) Distro-Mania & Microcosm Publishing 10th Anniversary includes zine news and zine interviews. Listen to guest interviewer Sister Diane of Craftypod interview Joel Biel of Microcosm Publishing. Biel discusses amongst other things, his distro, the zine scene in Portland and how the North American zine scene has changed over the last 10 years.
